Tropical boho Ivy House wedding

Disco balls + tropical fronds for Tara and Geoff

What a way to start my 2019 wedding season. T + G got married in May at the Ivy House in Walker's Point. We planned together for over 18 months!

These urban tropic vibes began with the Kalua pig + pineapple-carrot slaw they tasted at Ono Kine Grindz. And, from there, I ran with that tropical wedding theme.

Posies + Pine flew in a lot of these flowers from Hawaii, including the double strand orchid leis from Maui. In the bridal bouquet and in the floral garland arch were: anthurium, peonies, Nerine Lillies, ranunculus, ferns and the show-stopping stromanthe leaf.

The hula dancing Gods were watching over us because it was a miraculous 80-degree May Saturday in Wisconsin. The only non-tropical elements of their wedding were the beef jerky favors + gourmet doughnuts from Holey Moley.

I fell in love with Rea Mae from Bear Warner Photography that day. She has such an incredibly cool + warm way about her. Not to mention, a real gift for capturing + coaching lovely moments.

In our initial questionnaire, T + G said the most important elements of their wedding day were: the people, food + music. The guys at Ivy House were unbelievable to team up with; and I think this vendor team collectively saw to it that those initial important elements were nurtured.
